NRCS Idaho announces application period for Bear River Watershed Agriculture and Habitat Connectivity project easements
The U.S. Department of Agriculture Natural Resources Conservation Service (NRCS) in Idaho has announced its sign-up period for the Bear River Watershed Agriculture and Habitat Connectivity project through the Regional Conservation Partnership Program (RCPP).
BOISE, Idaho, April 26, 2024– The U.S. Department of Agriculture Natural Resources Conservation Service (NRCS) in Idaho has announced its sign-up period for the Bear River Watershed Agriculture and Habitat Connectivity project through the Regional Conservation Partnership Program (RCPP). This sign-up covers entity-held easements in the project area, located in southeastern Idaho. The deadline for application submission is June 3.
The Regional Conservation Partnership Program is a partner-driven program that leverages collective resources to find solutions to address natural resource challenges on agricultural land. This year’s funding announcements include opportunities for projects that address climate change, benefit historically underserved producers and support urban agriculture.
“RCPP is public-private partnership at its best,” said Natural Resources Conservation Service (NRCS) Idaho Acting State Conservationist Bruce Sandoval. “We’re excited for this phase of the Bear River Watershed Agriculture and Habitat Connectivity project which will harness the power of partnership to create lasting solutions to working lands challenges and support producers and communities who have been underserved in the past.”
To be eligible for Fiscal Year 2024 funding, applications submitted by the June 3 deadline must also meet all Farm Service Agency eligibility requirements by June 10, and all land eligibility requirements by July 15.
