Are you interested in improving energy efficiency on your agricultural operation? NRCS has over $2 million in Inflation Reduction Act funding to provide technical and financial assistance to help Rhode Island farmers, ranchers, and forestland owners improve energy efficiency and reduce emissions.

Available Practices 

  • Combustion System Improvement (CPS 372) - Stationary combustion engine to electric motor replacement or repower; and/or Mobile internal combustion engine to electric motor replacement. Replace an existing on-farm mobile device (i.e., tractor, loader, forklift, etc.) powered by an internal combustion engine with a new mobile device powered by an electric motor. 
  • Pumping Plant (CPS 533) - Replacing an existing water pump with a high-efficiency pump to reduce energy use
  • Energy Efficient Agricultural Operation (CPS 374)
  • Energy Efficient Lighting System (CPS 670)
  • Energy Efficient Building Envelope (CPS 672)
