Northeast Call for Abstracts

Deadline for submissions has been extended to May 24, 2024

The National Cooperative Soil Survey (NCSS) extends an open invitation to submit abstracts for oral and poster presentations for the Northeast National Cooperative Soil Survey Conference. The conference will be held at Bridgewater State University in Bridgewater, Massachusetts, from July 29 to August 1, 2024. 

Conference theme: Dynamic Soils and Climate Resiliency — Looking to the Past to Guide the Future

Presenters can submit abstracts for one of the following formats:

  • 20-minute oral presentation (20-minute presentation with an additional 5 minutes for questions)
  • Poster presentation only
  • Lightning talk with poster presentation (5-minute oral presentation)

Presentation Topics

All submissions will be considered. Suggested presentation topics include but are not limited to the following:

  • Dynamic Soil Properties 
  • New Technologies
  • Coastal Soils
  • Climate Resiliency

Abstract Submission Instructions

  • Upload a Word document to Box with the following:
    1. Presentation title
    2. Presenter’s name, affiliation, address, phone number, and email
    3. Co-authors’ names and affiliation
    4. Abstract (150- to 250-words)
    5. Preference for presentation format
      • Oral presentation
      • Poster only
      • Lightning talk with poster
         
  • Send an email confirmation to maggie.payne@usda.gov and dboellstorff@bridgew.edu with the subject line 2024 NE NCSS Conference Abstract Submission.

The NE NCSS steering committee will review the abstracts, make the final decisions, and notify each presenter by May 24, 2024

All accepted presenters are required to register and pay registration fees.
